The SSL-VBG50 is a high capacity 5000mAh / 37Wh Li-ion battery, designed specifically for use with the Panasonic AG-HMC151, AG-HMC41 and AG-HMC71 professional camcorders.

Secured communication technology enables the camera to recognise the battery as an authorised power source.N.B.

Although the SSL-VBG50 has a slightly lower capacity than the equivalent Panasonic battery, due to the shape of the discharge curve it will actually last about 25 minutes longer.Advanced features on the SSL-VBG50 include an integrated 3 LED power indicator, as well as standard IDX safety features such as over-charge, over-discharge and over-load protection.

The SSL-VBG50 can be quickly and safely recharged using a Panasonic charger or the IDX compact 2-channel LC-VWP simultaneous charger.

The IDX SSL-VBG50 is the only professional high quality alternative to the Panasonic VW-VBG6 model.

Comparing the specification of the two batteries side-by-side, the capacity of the VW-VBG6 is higher than the SSL-VBG50.

In reality however, the SSL-VBG50 will run for considerably longer. The shape of the discharge curve on the graph below shows that the SSL-VBG50 will run for approximately 27 minutes longer on the camera.

You will notice that the time between battery warning and cut-off is smaller for SSL-VBG50, but the additional runtime will be a distinct advantage.
